Download an 8-page holistic postpartum plan guide with a license for limited commercial use - so doulas, birthworkers, antenatal teachers, hypnobirthing teachers and midwives can print to give as handouts to clients and use as a tool to discuss how to prepare for thriving after birth. An excellent accompaniment to my illustrated plan template.
This content is based on my experience and my own research for my births, and isn't intended to replace any caregiver advice.
The way that we are loved and cared for after birth impacts us for the rest of our life. Ancient postpartum care practices helped new mothers to rest and replenish with practical, social and emotional support - going well beyond a couple of weeks in bed and the pressure to ‘bounce back’ as quickly as possible.
We are spiritual beings, having a human experience in a physical body. Our holistic wellbeing is made up of emotional, physical and spiritual health - and those parts are interconnected. If one element is out of balance, blocked or experiencing constriction - it affects the others too.
By preparing for a restful, slow, and nurturing ‘fourth trimester’ - and considering our postpartum plan with a mind-body-spirit approach - we can help ourselves to heal more deeply, replenish more fully, and just feel better - both in the short and long term.
